The People have No Part

It appears more and more to me that Clinton will get the Democratic nomination and McCain will get the Republicans'. If that is to be, McCain will certainly win the presidential race. Clinton simply comes with way too much baggage and too many people just hate her because they do.

It is entirely possible that the Democrats will fuck this up because, well, they have a talent in fucking things up and letting the determined, single minded, driven Republicans win. Just look at the way this Congress with its "majority" has worked out--these Democrats have become total Republican bitches and have bent over and opened wide with vaseline in their hands.

Now, let's take a moment and think. Clinton? McCain? How is it any different for the industries that benefit from the outcome. I have come to believe, and it is more and more evident, that it just does not matter. Both Clinton and McCain will serve their masters without giving a second though to the masses. And so, in the final analysis, I can understand why the Democratic leaders and the Republican Leaders can live with a Clinton/McCain race: because the final outcome will not make any difference for them.

So, even though it is common sense that the Clintons have outlived their sex appeal, the Leadership doesn't care. It's her turn and that's that. It's McCain's turn and thats' that.

Let the chips fall where they may; the hell with the people and their interest.

There is One True Congressman... Still.

Representative Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio may get excluded from Democratic presidential debates, as he has been recently, but no one can deny him the floor in the House. And today Mr. Kucinich took to the floor to fire off his latest salvo at the Bush administration: his plans to introduce Articles of Impeachment against President Bush on Jan. 28 - the day of Mr. Bush’s State of the Union speech.

Accusing the administration of lying about the need for the war in Iraq, Mr. Kucinich said he did not need to hear the president’sassessment. “We know the State of the Union,” he declared. “It’s a lie.” He also fired a volley at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of Californiawho has maintained that impeaching Mr. Bush is not on the table for Congressional Democrats. “If impeachment is off the table,” Mr. Kucinich said, “truth is off the table. If truth is off the tablethen this body is living a lie.”

Mr. Kucinich introduced Articles of Impeachment against VicePresident Dick Cheney last April and in November, with the surprise help of Republicans seeking to embarrass the Democrats, he nearly succeeded in securing an hour of debate on the House floor. House Democratic leaders blocked that, however, by referring the impeachment effort back to the Judiciary Committee. Anti-Bush groups have been urging Mr. Kucinich to undertake aneffort to impeach the president.

The Only Change is in the Name

And so on and on we go.

The scam of this still-new century enthralls and envelopes the nation, a narrowly-packaged farce in which political twins Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama pretend they are not joined at the hip on every public policy issue that has been allowed to enter the corporate media-vetted discourse: health care, Iraq, trade. Even these points of (non)contention disappear in the din of purely commercial marketing mantras with infinitely malleable meanings: "Change," "Hope," "Reform."

When no real change is offered - when both frontrunners are wedded to a lingering presence in Iraq and to reestablishing U.S. hegemony in the world; when insurance and drug companies are left virtually untouched by duos’ tepid forays into broadening health care coverage; and when neither offers a whisper of an idea on halting the corporate-engineered global Race to the Bottom, then it is certain that, although "change" may come, it will be at the direction of the rich who have brought the nation and planet to the very brink of catastrophe.

Fucking Country

I Got What America Needs Right Here.
By Jimmy Carter

Oh, what's that I hear? The weather's all screwy? You got a global warming problem? Boo-fucking-hoo! I was telling you morons to turn off your lights and unplug all your shit at night to conserve energy in 19-fuckin'-75, for chrissake. Gee, I wonder what woulda happened if we'd all switched to solar power like I fucking did back when we had a fucking chance to do something about it. Think we'd still be sucking Saudi Arabia's dick like a five-dollar whore? I sure as fuck didn't get no fancy Oscar for that little spiel, though, did I? No. But Al Gore, that cum-sucking pig, steals the shit from me and now he's the greatest thing since Jesus Christ made a fucking sandwich.

Well, he can lick my asshole right after George W. Bush, that fuck.

You want compassion? Somebody who's looking out for the little guy? Why don't you take a look at Jimmy Carter, 'cause unlike, oh, every motherfucking candidate out there, he spent the last fucking quarter-century building houses for the homeless. And what does he get for it? A fucking hernia. Some fucking gratitude, you selfish twats. You talk to me about compassion? I'll shove a crucifix so far up the Democrats' asses they'll be asking me to buy them dinner and kiss them good night.

Funny thing about me: I actually fucking know shit! Not like these goombas trying to weasel their way into the White House. I practically wrote the book on collapsing bridges, inflation, and the working poor, fuck-o. I even got a degree in nuclear engineering or some shit. You know how easy I could swoop down right now like a guardian angel and solve all your fucking problems? Snap. Bam. Do it in my fucking sleep. Just fucking try me.

So you want me to run for president again? Yeah, sure, absolutely, I'll do it. I'd be honored to do it—with my fucking dick in your mouth, you worthless scumbags.

You had your chance with Jimmy Carter, and you fucking blew it. So get fucked. Fucking country.

What a Mascarade

We face this circus during every election. Some executive of a media outlet, decides not to include viable candidate because their numbers are too low. Of course, being excluded and not having a voice can only result in low numbers. And low numbers can result in not having a voice. In all this, the people suffer for not getting the full picture.

RIP the Democratic Process.

Judge grants Kucinich entry to Nevada debate - The Debates- msnbc.com
LAS VEGAS - A Nevada judge said Monday that Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich must be included in Tuesday's candidates' debate in Nevada.
Senior Clark County District Court Judge Charles Thompson said if Kucinich is excluded, he'll issue an injunction stopping the televised debate.
The judge sided with a lawyer for the Ohio congressman, who says debate host MSNBC at first invited Kucinich to take part and then told him last week he couldn't.
A lawyer for the network said MSNBC decided to go with the top three candidates after the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.
The judge called it a matter of fairness and said Nevada voters will benefit if they hear from more than just Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. NBC issued a statement saying, "We disagree with the judge's decision and are filing an appeal."

Once Again, the Media Comes to the Rescue...

Of the lying liars in this Administration and their cronies at the Pentagon.

Official Version of Naval Incident Starts to Unravel
Cosgriff's answers to reporters' questions indicated that the story promoted earlier by Pentagon officials that one of the U.S . ships came very close to firing at the Iranian boats seriously distorted what actually happened. When Cosgriff was asked whether the crew ever gave warning to the Iranian boats that they "could come under fire", he said the commanding officers "did not believe they needed to fire warning shots". As for the report circulated by at least one Pentagon official to the media that one of the commanders was "close to firing", Cosgriff explained that "close to" meant that the commander was "working through a series of procedures". He added, "[I]n his mind, he might have been closing in on that point." Despite Cosgriff's account, which contradicted earlier Pentagon portrayals of the incident as a confrontation, not a single news outlet modified its earlier characterisation of the incident. After the Cosgriff briefing, Associated Press carried a story that said, " U.S. forces were taking steps toward firing on the Iranians to defend themselves, said the U.S. naval commander in the region. But the boats - believed to be from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's navy - turned and moved away, officials said." That was quite different from what Cosgriff actually said. In its story covering the Cosgriff briefing, Reuters cited "other Pentagon officials, speaking on condition of anonymity" as saying that "a U.S. captain was in the process of ordering sailors to open fire when the Iranian boats moved away" - a story that Cosgriff had specifically denied.

It's Good to be Da Police!

But not so good to be a worker in the Chicago's South Side.

'Freakonomics' researcher examines Chicago's sex trade
The researchers hired trackers, typically former prostitutes themselves, to follow a sample of about 160 female sex workers and record details of each sex act they performed. Working prostitutes were paid $150 a week to participate in the two-year study.

Street prostitutes reported that about 3 percent of the sex acts they performed were "freebies" given to Chicago police officers to avoid arrest, according to a draft report of the study, which was presented to a packed session last weekend at an annual national economics conference in New Orleans.

According to the paper, full-time prostitutes made on average less than $20,000 a year. If they had a pimp, the women made a little more, even after giving up a 25 percent cut of their earnings. The women reported being beaten about once a month on average.

Clintons Again?

I must admit that I was a supporter of the Clintons in that era. That was so because there were no respectable alternatives. I mean, who were on the other side? The Bushies and the likes who predicated their political allegiance on a blow job! We now have alternatives... But they don't get the attention they deserve.

As always, voting for the lesser of the two evil, Obama appears to be the choice. If he gets elected, I can say that I had lunch with the President, he sat at my table and we chatted and then I shook his hand.

We Forget What It Was Really Like Under the Clintons
Clintonism never saw a sector it didn't want to deregulate. Wholesale electricity deregulation began under George H.W. Bush, but Clinton worked relentlessly to extend it and bring it to the retail level. We forget that Ken Lay, the founder of Enron and the driving force behind electricity deregulation was a friend of and mentor to Clinton as well as George W. Bush. Enron gave $420,000 to Clinton's party over three years and donated $100,000 to his inauguration festivities. Ken Lay stayed at the White House 11 times.

Clinton's appointees on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) aggressively deregulated the electric grid system, even refusing to step in when Enron and other electricity traders' manipulation of prices drove California to the edge of bankruptcy.

And then there was welfare reform. During his 1992 presidential campaign, Clinton promised to "end welfare as we know it." Four years later he proudly pushed through the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act, which, for the first time in 60 years, eliminated the federal safety net for the poor. The legislation set work requirements for most welfare recipients and limited the length of time they could collect assistance.

Please Contribute as Much as You Can!

How Can This Be?

Don't we like to think that we are living in a democracy? In Iran, the candidates are vetted by the Supreme Religious Potentate and only those who are allowed to participate do so. So the voters only get a choice from the vetted and accepted candidates... And we call them un-democratic, dictatorship regime.
In America, the candidates are vetted by their parties, the Media (as agents of those with the power of the purse) and various industries and interests who give or withhold support for a particular candidate. So the voters only get a choice from the vetted and accepted candidates.
And how is this any different from the Iranian way of doing things?
This is outrageous.

Kucinich files lawsuit after party denies him place on ballot

"Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, along with supporter Willie Nelson, have filed a lawsuit to get Kucinich on the ballot in Texas after they say the Texas Democratic Party rejected his application.
The civil lawsuit was delivered late Wednesday afternoon to U.S. District Court for the Western District of the United States, Kucinich spokesman Andy Juniewicz said late Wednesday evening.
The lawsuit says that Kucinich was informed by the Texas Democratic Party on Wednesday that his application was 'defective' because he crossed out a loyalty oath in the application that said he would swear to support whoever the Democratic nominee for president might be."
and then there is this further supporting the theory that we are not living in a democracy and that we are only fooling ourselves in thinking that our political process is any different that that which is being exercised in Iran--they are all the same in the final outcome.

Kucinich, Hunter, Gravel cut from debates

"Saturday's prime-time presidential debates from New Hampshire will be less crowded because ABC News is excluding GOP candidate Duncan Hunter and Democrats Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.
The candidates failed to meet benchmarks for their support that were outlined prior to Thursday's Iowa caucus, the network said Friday.
ABC said it hoped to encourage more conversation and interaction among the candidates during the debates, which will both be moderated by Charles Gibson. The stakes are high as candidates take the stage three days before the New Hampshire primary.
The Republican debate will include Iowa caucus winner Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul. It starts at 7 p.m. EST."

What about Kucinich?

I suppose he is not a "Top Dem"...

Only One Top Dem Will End Iraq Occupation
While it's true that the big three have similar stances on a number of issues, on Iraq -- the one that Democrats and swing voters say is either their top concern, or No. 2 after the economy -- the top candidates' differences couldn't be more significant. In fact, only John Edwards among the top three Dems would effectively end the occupation of Iraq within a year of taking office.

What A Fucking Idiot

No, not the attorney who is accused of scratching/keying a guy's BMW but John Kass who in his stupid editorial has opined out of his ass and has forgotten that in America the accused is innocent until proven guilty. The accused here has denied the charges but Kass, in his infinite stupidity and in complete abuse of his access to the mass media, has judged and determined the guilt of the accused. Perhaps he likes to join the Illinois Bench?

What a fucking idiot!

For Marine's sendoff, his car is keyed -- chicagotribune.com
And I wanted to get Grodner's side of it because he's been accused but not convicted of anything. So we called all the Grodner numbers we could find -- home and business -- including those on the police report and others in the suburbs and Chicago. Many were disconnected, and his cell phone voice mail was full.

I'd like to ask him two questions:

Why?

And, are you proud?
